A pretty full year.

Over the span of the last 365 I managed to:

Start a diet in which I was supposed to lose 20 lbs. of fat in 30 days…with no exercise. Well, I lost 30 lbs. but it took 365 days and a fair amount of exercise.

Buy an energy-efficient refrigerator…then had to modify the kitchen to fit.

Installed a new file server at work and had a really rough time of it.

Declared war on clutter…and lost.

Bought a new GPS receiver. Barely use it these days.

Joined a climbing gym and have been fairly consistent. Greatly reduced my fear of heights.

Came down with hemi-facial spasm, which lasted nearly a month.

Read John Muir for the first time, and discovered his prose has a lot in common with beat writers Kerouac and Ginsberg.

Went with the youth group on a YWAM mission trip in San Francisco.

Hiked to Chilnualna falls near Yosemite.

Started to write a novel, installed a laminate floor instead.

Spent a week camping with Wendy and the Lost Boys, youth summer trip ’08.

Bought a motorcycle and started re-learning to ride. Tougher than I expected. Turns out you can forget how to ride a bike.

Started a High School guys’ “Bible study” where we tried everything from kendo fencing to shooting each other with a paintball gun. Even a little Bible study on the side.
