Leopard: Don’t Go Breaking My Heart

1

Like a whirlwind romance my weekend fling with Leopard has been a wild ride. The new Mac OS X hasn’t yet broken my heart but it did break Photoshop 7 and a few other mission-critical apps in my home office. Fortunately the damage was a little less severe at the Evil Day Job from Hell, where I found that Adobe’s CS2 suite works so-far-so-good in Leopard despite Adobe’s statement that apps older than CS3 aren’t supported.

Other apps that work on Leopard: Filemaker Pro 6, Retrospect 6, tn3270 X terminal app, Office X, Linotype’s Font Explorer X, Delicious Library and Scrivener all work just fine.

Now here’s the bad news. Missing sync is hosed and isn’t due for an upgrade for 90 days (time to replace the Treo with an iPhone?), Palm Desktop and Hotsync won’t work either, meaning that I can’t sync my to-do list on my phone. MailTags also won’t work with Leopard but there is a MailTags 2.2 public beta available albeit with reduced functionality (no iCal linking).
